Our Mission

Climate Conversation Brazoria County works to unite and bring reparations to environmental justice communities.

COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND EMPOWERMENT

We educate residents of affected communities about their civic rights and responsibilities regarding their local and state governments. Understanding the ways local, state and federal governments work directly affects the power of our advocacy for change. We develop and host workshops, distribute informational material, and provide training sessions on topics such as public policy, environmental contaminants and regulatory processes and oversite.

COMMUNITY-BASED SOLUTIONS AND GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE

Implementing community-based solutions to mitigate pollution and improve environmental our highest priority. We work with the community to prioritize needs, such as pollution monitoring equipment, and discover ways to decrease the use and demands of non-renewable energy in our communities. It is our hope to provide and increase green energy sources locally.

ADVOCACY AND POLICY CHANGE

We work towards policy change at local, state, and federal levels. This is essential for long-term sustainability. Stricter regulations on emissions from chemical plants and zoning ordinances are needed. Meaningful policies and oversight to reverse harms and to prevent further industrial encroachment on vulnerable communities is a top priority.
